PuppetLinks Video Workshop is an easy-to-use tool for teachers, counselors, and youth leaders to motivate children in standards-based active learning formats across the curriculum through the multifaceted art form of puppetry. This entertaining and engaging DVD is classroom-tested, ready for immediate impact, requiring little pre-preparation by the teacher, aside from having simple materials available. The presentation format leads students directly in a step-by-step process to think creatively in preparation of original puppet theater pieces for peers, based on a clear conflict resolution theme. Karen Konnerth’s countless hours spent working as puppetry artist-in-residence in collaboration with classroom teachers have led her to create this tool to help teachers engage students in learning. Her experience participating in as well as presenting teacher workshops at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, along with touring for the U.S. Embassy English Language Specialist program as teacher educator, have further contributed to her desire to make this highly effective format easily accessible.
