HOLIDAY SPECIAL EVENTS
SHOW AND CRAFT
CALLIOPE PUPPETS performs “The Elves and the Shoemaker”, followed by mini-workshop for audience members to make their own holiday Elf puppet. Recommended ages 3 -12.

PUPPETS & PAJAMAS SERIES
DATE: Wednesday, December 30 (New Year’s Eve Eve!)
TIME: 6:00p.m.
Come in pajamas to see a bedtime story brought to life! “Puss In Boots” Recommended ages 3-12. FEE: $5.00, age 2 and under free.

PUPPET TALE WORKSHOPS
Children ages 6 – 11 are invited to experience the ancient art form of puppetry! Workshop participants will listen to a folktale, create a simple puppet character to tell an original adaptation of the tale, learn performance techniques, and present the story to family members.
Workshops promote literacy and collaborative learning.

LOCATION: Calliope Puppet Center, 623 Vallette Street, New Orleans
Participants will listen to the Brothers Grimm tale , “The Frog Prince”, then make sock and fabric hand puppets of either a princess or a prince, and a frog. They will learn manipulation skills, and use a studio puppet theater to present the story to parents at the end of the workshop.
Class limit: 25
AGES: 6 – 12.
FEE: $20/child, or $35/two siblings, paid in advance

HOURS: 10:00a.m. – noon. Recommended arrival time for workshop is 9:45, to insure that all participants are present for introduction and activities beginning promptly at 10:00a.m. Recommended that parents drop children off at 9:45 and return at 11:45, in order to see their children’s performance.
